Northiam Street is part of a housing development designed by John Spence and Partners for the Crown Estate, constructed between 1967 and 1977.

The estate consists of apartment blocks and mews houses. This one-bedroom flat was home to a young couple and their two children in need of more space. This space was provided by extending into the 3 existing garages below.

The completed project provides 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom at ground level, looking on to a rear courtyard. At raised ground level is a large, living / dining / kitchen area with high ceilings and mezzanine storage.
